Stickhead 7 on 7
It was a busy weekend with an early start at the pancake breakfast at Applebees in Middletown. Players left early to make their first game at Champions Park on River Road. What a mud pit! -there were several times the goalies had to pick the ball up to continue play. We had a great end to the weekend with the team picnic on Sunday afternoon. Thanks to all of the parents that made the weekend possible, and to the coaches for all of their time.
Where's Thomas?

Ohio State 7 on 7
Thanks to all of the parents and players that traveled to Ohio State for a day of lacrosse - and to Coach Clifford for making the trip too -
Not only did the boys get several games in, but they got to watch some great games.
Our day started on turf, and then we were moved inside to the The Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The facility is one of the best indoor facilities of its kind in college athletics. It contains an indoor field which is 400 feet long, 220 feet wide and 65 feet high and is covered by All-Pro Turf. What an experience for the team. We finished the day with two games outside.
The first slide show is from Scott Wade - the second one is mine.

In the news...
Addison Sears, his mom and Coach Clifford participated in 'Triple Play' ,an article in VYPE magazine. Addison answered 10 questions - the other two tried to 'guess' his answers. To see how everyone did - check out the on-line version. Personally I don't think Addison knows himself as well as his mother does... or he didn't predict her answers very well.

Where are you playing this summer?
Four team members are playing on competitive lacrosse teams. Sam Salzman, Patrick Evans and Stuart McClean are playing for Team Stickhead orange and green teams. Addison Sears is playing for the BlueGrass Bats.
Both teams played in the Lax-N-Nati tournament this past weekend. Team Stickhead beat the Bats by a point on Saturday. The two teams met again Sunday morning in the semi-finals, with the Bluegrass Bats winning in double overtime. All four players looked great in their games. Both Stickhead and the Bats are playing in the Gait Cup next week - look for more pictures. If you are interested in seeing more of the Bats vs Stickhead games - visit the Bats blog.

Team Stickhead is forming this summer. Tryouts are Sunday, May 17 and Monday May 18. There is a $15 tryout fee, if you tryout both days (optional) you only pay the fee once. They are committed to the Gait Cup and have other tournaments under consideration. More information at Team Stickhead
Playoffs - first round
After several changes (you have to love the DEAN) due to weather, we ended up playing Christian Academy at South Oldham. I don't know how it happened, but it ended up being a beautiful day for a game. Personally I age a little bit each time we play it so close -

Plant A Seed for the Manual Track
Please help support FAST as they work towards restoring the track:
Kellogg's Frosted Flakes is having a contest called "Plant A Seed." You may have seen it on one of the Superbowl adds this year. During phase one of the contest, people from across the nation nominate a sports field or running track (or "plant a seed") that needs to be made over. Phase 2 narrows the nominees to 100 fields, and in Phase 3, 30 fields are chosen to receive a $15,000 donation to go towards the restoration of the field.
Here's where you come in. This year, I nominated our running track, and during phase one, which lasts until March 31, you can go to the following link and click "support this field." Please tell everyone you know about this as the more support we have, the better chance we have of making the first cut. You can also add comments and view our pictures and video. On May 1st, people can vote to decide the final 30.
Here is the link to our field: http://www.frostedflakes.com/PLANT-A-SEED/FIELD/73870/FIELD.ASPX. Unfortunately, for some reason, if you use Internet Explorer, this link will not work. However, Google Chrome and Firefox work, and any other web browser should work.
Please support our field and tell everyone you know about it. If you have any questions, you can email me offline at tapdancer16@insightbb.com or check out the information on the Frosted Flakes site.
Thank you so much,
Cristin Palmer
