Registration for indoor lacrosse (winter session) is now open. Teams will be limited to 14 - it would be great to have a Manual team.

Manual Player in the Paper

This photo of Logan Shulz was in the Courier Journal on Thursday, October 16.  Logan scored a goal for Manual during the Crimsons' 10 - 0 victory over Central. Manual plays St. X on Friday night.  Boys Lacrosse co-captain Sam Salzman also plays for the Manual soccer team.

Lacrosse Weekend - October 11 & 12

What a great weekend for lacrosse. The 7 x 7 tournament filled our day on Saturday, and we had a large group make the team picnic on Sunday. If you weren't able to make the picnic, hopefully we can have another team get-together closer to the season.

Important Dates

I hope everyone received the postcard in the mail or e-mail.  We have quite a few things coming up and we need everyone to  help.

The Stickhead 7 x 7 is on October 11.  

New date for the picnic is Sunday, October 12.  Please RSVP to manuallax@gmail.com by October 6.

Spirit Wear order forms are on-line.  Orders will be taken at the picnic, or you can mail it in by October 17.

Applebee's Pancake Breakfast  on October 18.  All boys work, retuning players sell tickets.  For more information click on the link.

We are working the concession stand at the October 24 football game.  We need everyone there. Please e-mail if you are interested in coordinating volunteers.

We need volunteers to work the table at the 8th grade Open House on October 28.

We are playing in a Fall Ball Round Robin on November 8 - more information to follow.

There will be a mandatory Booster Club meeting on December 2 for all parents.

Ike 2008

Rick Sausen of Cumberland, MD., a supervisor for Allegheny Power, said his workers have enjoyed sleeping in tents at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.  Courier Journal 9/20/08

Who would have ever thought that our picnic would be cancelled because of a hurricane?  And that we couldn't keep our rain date a week later because that park is designated a relief area.

We have a few activities coming up in October - please check the calendar.

Summer Camp

Manual Boys Lacrosse held it's first Lacrosse Summer Camp this year in July.  We held sessions for both middle and high school boys with a combined total of over 40 participants.  The high school session had boys from several area high schools as well as Lexington, KY.  Thanks to all of the coaches for their hard work, and to Maria Trent and Pam Ruckriegel for organizing and volunteering their time.  Thanks also to parents who chipped in with fruit and snacks for the boys.

Welcome to the Manual Boys Lacrosse blog - 

Hopefully this will help keep you informed about team activities in a timely manner, as well has help you plan for upcoming events.

I have included a calendar that merges team activities with the school calendar, a link to the team picasa web album, a slideshow, links to the school's team website and to a website for the team.  The website for the team is private and I will use that to file forms and documents you may need.  I plan to use the blog for ongoing information (reminders and notifications) so I have included a link for an RSS feed.
